Switzerland’s first 18-ton electric truck
Since 2013, Feldschlösschen has included an 18-ton electric truck in its vehicle fleet—the first to be manufactured in Switzerland. The zero-emission vehicle is used for the daily delivery to customers and sales outlets. With a body and payload weight of 10 tons, the truck represents a milestone in freight transport.
Project Objectives
SUNCAR was commissioned to conduct an efficiency and economic analysis of the E-FORCE 18-ton electric truck for Feldschlösschen Getränke AG.
Results
In August 2014, we conducted a feasibility study for the electric truck on behalf of the company Feldschlösschen. Among other findings, the study demonstrates that the electric truck is up to five times more energy-efficient in urban traffic. Economic and ecological advantages were also highlighted.
