Turning concepts into functioning machines
Our approach combines systems thinking, engineering, and real-world validation. It is shaped by our own experience as a manufacturer of complete machines and our commitment to reliably implementing solutions through to deployment. In doing so, we specifically close market gaps thanks to our own standard solutions and customizable products.
Approach
How we work
SUNCAR’s approach is based on its own history as both a developer and manufacturer of electric machines. Our team thinks in terms of products, not just projects. We share responsibility for function, integration, and operation throughout the entire lifecycle. This ownership mindset flows directly into customer projects: decisions are not made in isolation, but in the context of the market, its trends, the overall system, its operating conditions, and subsequent scaling. The methodology is based on the development of our own electric excavators as well as the implementation of complex vehicle platforms, including system design, integration, and validation in real-world use.
What defines Suncar
From development to commissioning
SUNCAR accompanies projects throughout the entire development process. We support you from prototype construction and machine assembly to inspections using test benches, testing, and commissioning, all the way to validation in real-world use.
System responsibility instead of interface chaos
SUNCAR ensures the interaction of all subsystems – from high-voltage architecture and drive systems to thermal management and control software. The goal is a functioning overall system, not the isolated optimization of individual components.
Development based on real-world load profiles
Systems are designed based on concrete operating conditions. Energy requirements, load cycles, and operating modes are not assumed, but measured, analyzed, and validated.
Efficiency through intelligent system architectures
For us, electrification means more than just emission reduction. We simultaneously aim for higher productivity and efficiency. We pursue these goals through optimized hydraulic systems, drive architectures, and assistance systems.
Integration as a core competence
A central focus is on the targeted integration of components from different suppliers and the development of robust interfaces.
Iterative validation in the vehicle
New concepts are tested early in the real system. Software, components, and architectures are specifically validated and continuously further developed.
How we work
System understanding and requirement definition
The starting point is the real-world application scenario. Operating cycles, energy requirements, interfaces, and functional requirements are recorded in detail and translated into technical targets.
System architecture and design
The overall architecture is defined based on these requirements. This includes:
– Drive concepts and power dimensioning
– Battery and charging systems
– Thermal management
– Electrical and software interfaces
All components are selected and designed according to the system requirements.
Development of subsystems
Electrical systems, software, thermodynamics, and mechanics are partly developed in parallel. Dependencies are skillfully managed to minimize integration risks early on.
Integration in the real system
Depending on the project, integration takes place directly in the vehicle or machine. Wiring, controls, components, and interfaces are brought together and commissioned.
Validation under operating conditions
Systems are tested under real-world conditions. This includes:
– Charging processes and interfaces
– Operating behavior under load
– Interaction of drive, auxiliary units, and software
Insights from these tests flow directly into further development or series maintenance.
Independence and system first
Decisions are made neutrally and at the system level, not the component level.
Integration instead of iteration via interfaces
Interface problems are not managed; they are avoided through integrative development.
Validation before scaling
Concepts are secured in real-world use before they are scaled or industrialized.
Efficiency as a system goal
Our focus is on overall efficiency, operating times, and energy efficiency – not on individual metrics. We are ready and able to challenge existing paradigms.
Development with a series perspective
Architectures and solutions are designed so that they can be transferred into prototypes, assemblies, and series production.

What we work with
How we deliver our services
Methods and tools
Development at SUNCAR follows a systematic engineering approach in which system architecture, simulation, and real-world validation are closely interlinked. Solutions are developed based on clearly defined requirements and implemented through the interaction of all disciplines – from electrical systems and thermodynamics to software.
Tools and platforms
Our INSIGHT platform is available for monitoring, diagnostics, and remote access. It enables the continuous analysis of operating data as well as the targeted further development of systems in the field. Integration takes place via standardized communication interfaces such as CAN as well as through proprietary control logic for complex operating states.
Safety and monitoring functions
Modular libraries and reusable function blocks that have been developed and pre-validated on test benches are used in software development.
A central component is iterative validation directly in the vehicle. Adjustments to software, control, and system behavior take place under real-world operating conditions, for example, when integrating charging interfaces or optimizing control strategies.
