As developers of electrical machines primarily off-road and off-grid, we are particularly proud that, as a development partner of Jost AG and BKW Power Grid, we were able to contribute to the innovative new development of the hybrid backup power system hNEA. The hNEA consists, among other components, of a diesel engine with generator and a battery storage system. The battery stores the electricity generated by the diesel engine and generator. When the battery is fully charged, the diesel engine is switched off and, if required, battery power is fed into the grid. The diesel engine only starts again when the battery’s state of charge falls below a defined value. The battery can also be recharged from the connected power generation systems using surplus energy that is not currently needed. This makes it possible to reduce diesel consumption and CO2 emissions in regular operation by 80%. This also significantly reduces noise pollution. The hNEA therefore makes a substantial contribution to reducing CO2 emissions and thus to the responsible use of resources.
